How many treatments will I need?
In an acute problem our body responds quicker to the treatments. For a chronic condition it will be in the region of 10 treatments, with possible extension, depending on the progress of the healing process.
Are there any contraindications to the use of acupuncture?
- Anticoagulation / Hemophilia
- Immune deficiency
- Abnormal heart valves or prosthetic valves
What happens during an acupuncture session?
The session starts with a short medical history, pulse and tongue observation. Very fine sterile disposable needles are inserted into selected points in the body. You may feel a slight pin prick when the needle is inserted into the skin. You can then feel some pain, tingling, warmth or mild discomfort. Sometimes you feel nothing at all. The session takes place in a supported and comfortable position. A treatment session can take up to 30 minutes. You are advised to rest briefly take the rest and not drive straight away if you feel fatigued. It is also recommended that you don’t undergo treatment if you’re hungry.
